Early Childhood Educator in London

Woodlands Nursery Tooting Broadway is a nurturing early years setting focused on providing high-quality care, attention, and education for young children. The nursery supports children in becoming confident individuals while introducing them to a wide range of opportunitoes and experiences that will benefit their future development.

The team works in partnership with parents and caregivers, treating each child’s future as a shared responsibility and priority.

The Early Years Educator is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This role involves planning and delivering age-appropriate learning activities that support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The educator will create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment, supervise children during play and structured learning, and observe and record developmental progress. Daily responsibilities include communicating with families and colleagues, supporting routines, preparing learning materials, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the nursery’s curriculum and practices. The educator will also follow relevant safeguarding and health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of all children.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Creativity skills for designing engaging, play-based learning activities and adapting them to individual needs.
• Organisation skills to manage routines, maintain records, and prepare learning environments effectively.
• Relevant early years qualification (minimum Level 2 in Childcare/Early Years or equivalent) and understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
• Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with families.
• Patience, empathy, and a child-centered approach that promotes inclusion and respect for diversity.
• Basic IT skills for documentation and communication; first aid training and previous nursery or school experience are beneficial.
