Salaried GP required to work 4-8 sessions per week with a share of on-call duties within the practice. Salary competitive depending on experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic team-playing GP to start work at Woodlands. A 4-8 session (1 day on call) doctor with sessions in core hours only. We provide mentor support for newly qualified GPs if needed.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and dedication to patient care. Involvement with GP training is encouraged, as well as personal development and special interests within primary care. We have an exceptionally stable GP team and our ethos is practising up-to-date quality family medicine and valuing quality and continuity. We have a very organised admin and nursing team, and are a high achieving practice with very high patient satisfaction and CQC outstanding. We are a training practice (GP and F2). We have an in-house pharmacist and first contact physio. Great IT systems (S1 with Ardens) in place. In-house minor surgery, diabetes, family planning, dermatology and IT expertise.

Main duties of the job:

  • Salaried GP 4-8 sessions per week with a share of on-call duties 1 day a week within core hours of 8 am - 18:30 pm.
  • Fulfil share of routine and urgent appointments.
  • Prescribe as per local & national guidelines.
  • Accept a share of visits routine and emergency.
  • Accept responsibility and time-manage completion of administration: letters, results, referrals, telephone calls and home visits.

About us:

Woodlands Medical Practice is a forward-thinking GMS practice in the west of Sutton-in-Ashfield (Ashfield North PCN). We currently service a list of 12,400 patients. We have a low home-visiting rate (local home-visiting service). We are part of the Ashfield North PCN group. We work from purpose-built leased premises close to the A38 and M1 with good parking and easy access to Nottingham and Derbyshire. The GP team is supported by a team of practice nurses, HCAs, a phlebotomist and a full administration team including a practice manager and business support officers. We offer access to the NHS pension scheme, free staff parking and a generous annual leave entitlement. We are a very friendly and hard-working practice which has earned us the title of CQC Outstanding.

  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary to make a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure & Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
