We are looking for a Maternity Locum GP to join our excellent clinical team for 4-6 sessions per week. We are a long established friendly and supportive, progressive training practice, located in East Finchley, London N2 8BG. We are seeking to appoint a clinically excellent GP as a maternity locum to join our happy and committed clinical team.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultation, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, doing own path links, share of own call rota and dealing with queries.
- Making professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients in line with current practice disease management protocols.

Job responsibilities
- To adhere to the GMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- To maintain own clinical competencies and be responsible for own continuing professional development.
- To assess, plan, monitor and evaluate patient care using evidence based practice and in accordance with practice protocols and guidelines.
- To establish and monitor good working relationships with the GPs, and other health care professionals, statutory and voluntary organisations.
Person Specification
- Full GMC Registration, MBChB or equivalent UK permit or right to work in the United Kingdom.
- GP Vocational or additional experience in general practice.
- Commitment to professional development.
- Knowledge of the NHS.
- MRCPG DRCOG DFFP.
- Experience in use of EMIS LV.
- Experience in use of Docman.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
