We design, manufacture and deliver high-quality timber buildings at scale across multiple sites, combining practical craftsmanship with operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
THE ROLE
This is not a desk-based quality role. The Quality Lead is a hands-on, shop-floor-focused position responsible for improving how quality is delivered across the business. You will work directly with production, supply chain, logistics and aftercare teams to reduce defects, rework, complaints and service failures. You will define what good looks like, embed it into daily operations, and ensure issues are properly resolved at root cause, not repeated. This is a visible role within our TOPEx continuous improvement programme, with real influence over standards, behaviours and performance.
What you will be doing
- Being a consistent, visible presence on the shop floor
- Setting clear, practical quality standards across materials, processes and finished products
- Driving right-first-time build quality
- Identifying issues early and ensuring they are properly resolved
- Leading structured root cause investigations into defects and complaints
- Implementing corrective and preventative actions that actually stick
- Using data and customer feedback to drive improvement
- Managing non-conforming materials without disrupting output
- Tracking performance, spotting trends and challenging where needed
- Coaching and developing teams to take ownership of quality
What we are looking for
- Proven experience improving quality in a manufacturing environment
- Comfortable working hands-on with production teams
- Strong root cause problem-solving capability
- Able to operate at pace in a changing environment
- Direct, accountable and solution-focused
- Someone who sets standards and follows through
You do not need a long list of qualifications. Real experience, judgement and the ability to make things better matter more.
What we offer
- Competitive salary, based on experience and impact
- Annual performance bonus and EOT tax-free bonus
- 28 days holiday, increasing with service, plus option to buy more
- Staff discount across our product range
- Workwear provided
- Cycle to Work scheme and funded Costco membership
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Free parking and on-site facilities
