  • Term time plus 5 days
  • Reports to: Principal

What does a Teaching Assistant do?

You will be an essential part of a team working to ensure success and happiness for all. You are there to help children access an ambitious curriculum, develop their independence, and ensure their physical, social, and emotional needs are met within our nurturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support or lead activities for individuals or small groups, such as phonics, to help pupils achieve learning goals.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility to encourage pupil growth, confidence and self-esteem.
  • Establish trusting bonds to promote social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Provide vital feedback to teachers on pupil progress and help prepare a stimulating classroom environment.

The Person: What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths is essential.
  • Experience: Must have experience working within an educational environment. Supporting children with SEND is a significant advantage.
  • Skills: Active listening skills, strong verbal communication, and the ability to work unsupervised using your own initiative.
  • Tech Savvy: Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and supporting the use of technology in the classroom.
