Woodland Group are recruiting a Branch Manager for our Fulfilment Site in Coventry. Reporting to the UK Head of Fulfilment Operations, the Branch Manager will maintain strong working relationships with the Woodland Global management team. Oversee and manage the day to day operation and commercial activity of this busy Fulfilment business unit developing and delivering a \’best in class\’ philosophy across all aspects of the operation.

About the role:

  • Achieve operational objectives through the efficient use of all resources;
  • Prepare and complete action plans and reviews; resolve problems and identify trends;
  • Meet the financial objectives by forecasting staffing requirements ensuring profitability targets are met.
  • Preparing the budget, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions;
  • Ensure that legislative requirements fully understood together with our respective roles and responsibilities relating to AEO, Quality Standards and Health and Safety;
  • Directly contribute to ongoing sales growth of the Business Unit.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Team at all levels in terms of sales delivery and opportunities for the Department.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers. Ensure that specific customer requirements are met by working with the commercial team to produce any bespoke Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements
  • Recruit, select, train and manage the team enforcing Company policies and procedures;
  • Develop, implement, enforce and evaluate standard operating procedures;
  • Create a positive culture and environment for employees within the Business Unit.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures complying with legal regulations; and
  • Monitor and Maintain the Quality Manual for the particular site.
  • Ensure that the standards are being meet through regular communications with the on site management team and the local quality auditors.
  • Report on BRCGS standard adherence via KPI’s on a monthly basis.
  • Report to the Quality Lead on the performance against the BRCGS standards and identify and report any risks, threats, opportunities and improvements.
  • Hold regular quality meeting with the local teams and document on matters of the BRCGS quality standard.
  • Work closely with the Quality Lead to ensure that the correct quality culture is adopted and implement improvements that enhance and promote a positive quality culture towards Food Safety and quality in general.
  • Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the Business Unit.

Personal Specification

  • You have previous operational experience in managing a fulfilment site.
  • You have excellent knowledge of financial budgeting, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances
  • You have the natural ability to develop and maintain relationships with key customers.
  • You excel with a team environment as well as being able to work autonomously when required;
  • You are flexible, adaptable, and open minded and respond well to the ever-changing priorities and challenges while remaining calm and focussed on getting the job done;
  • You are proactive looking at ways to improve processes and have the initiative to put them forward and where possible into practice;
  • You actively seek ways to enhance your knowledge and improve your performance; and
  • You are self-motivated, have huge drive and ambition – you thrive off achieving great success and helping to build a great place to work!
