Woodland Group are recruiting a Warehouse Supervisor on Days paying £34,000, for our site at Doncaster. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will maintain strong working relationships with the warehouse team.
About the job:
- Oversee Goods In, Goods Out and Pick All Customer Orders;
- Supervise the Warehouse Team;
- Monitor activity within the trade to ensure that business is retained through effective communication and customer service;
- Ensure that internal and external customer requirements are met by working with the Customer Service Team;
- Provide advice and guidance to Warehouse Manager on warehouse utilisation;
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures complying with legal regulations;
- Manage and develop team members to enable operational objectives to be met;
- Direct and control the quality of work and resources of the warehouse ensuring that any recruitment needs are reported to Warehouse Manager;
- Support the Warehouse Manager to ensure that harmonious working relationships are maintained;
- Ensure that all staff are appropriately trained and motivated to carry out their responsibilities to the required standards;
- Make recommendations for identified issues;
- Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department;
- Managing staff holidays, sickness and running disciplinary investigations/hearings when necessary;
- Directing the daily activities to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for all colleagues;
- Work with the Management team to continually improve processes and business performance;
- Support changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward;
- Work to achieve personal objectives set at appraisal and/or those set monthly or quarterly;
- Understand and adhere to all Woodland policies and procedures relevant to the role;
- Meet Customer Order Deadlines.
About you:
- It is essential you have an in-date counterbalance licence from an external provider.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations and forklift driving.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
