Woodland Group are recruiting a Warehouse Supervisor on Days paying £34,000, for our site at Doncaster. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will maintain strong working relationships with the warehouse team. Oversee, manage, direct and control the day-to-day operation of the warehouse. Ensure the Goods In, out and picking of Customer Orders within agreed timeframe whilst ensuring best use of warehouse space and budget.

Shift: Days, 4 on 4 off 7am-7pm.

About the job:

  • Oversee Goods In, Goods Out and Pick All Customer Orders;
  • Supervise the Warehouse Team;
  • Monitor activity within the trade to ensure that business is retained through effective communication and customer service;
  • Ensure that internal and external customer requirements are met by working with the Customer Service Team;
  • Provide advice and guidance to Warehouse Manager on warehouse utilisation;
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures complying with legal regulations;
  • Manage and develop team members to enable operational objectives to be met;
  • Direct and control the quality of work and resources of the warehouse ensuring that any recruitment needs are reported to Warehouse Manager;
  • Support the Warehouse Manager to ensure that harmonious working relationships are maintained;
  • Ensure that all staff are appropriately trained and motivated to carry out their responsibilities to the required standards;
  • Make recommendations for identified issues;
  • Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department;
  • Managing staff holidays, sickness and running disciplinary investigations/hearings when necessary;
  • Directing the daily activities to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for all colleagues;
  • Work with the Management team to continually improve processes and business performance;
  • Support changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward;
  • Work to achieve personal objectives set at appraisal and/or those set monthly or quarterly;
  • Understand and adhere to all Woodland policies and procedures relevant to the role;
  • Meet Customer Order Deadlines.

About you:

  • It is essential you have an in-date counterbalance licence from an external provider.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations and forklift driving.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
