Senior / Associate Building Surveyor - London | Up to £80k DOE + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a highly regarded and leading Real Estate and Property Consultancy in London.

This role would suit an ambitious Senior or Associate level Building Surveyor who is looking to take on greater responsibility, work with an exceptional client base and develop a genuine pathway towards Director level.

The business is a well established and highly respected name within the property sector, working with an impressive portfolio of developers, funders, owners and occupiers across the Commercial Office, Industrial, Retail and Hospitality sectors.

The Role

This is a predominantly professional Building Surveying role, with an approximate 75/25 split between professional and project work.

Your workload is likely to include:

• Dilapidations, acting for both landlords and tenants
• Dilapidations negotiations
• Reinstatement Cost Assessments
• Licence to Alter
• Technical Due Diligence
• Contract Administration
• A range of wider professional Building Surveying instructions

Dilapidations experience will be particularly valuable. Ideally, you will have experience acting for both landlords and tenants, including involvement in negotiations. However, the company would also consider someone with a strong commercial Building Surveying background and a genuine desire to develop further within this area.

You will be encouraged to take genuine ownership of your work, managing instructions and projects from inception through to completion. For someone currently working within a Director led structure, this could also provide an excellent opportunity to develop greater autonomy and learn how to successfully lead and manage projects independently.

• Train, mentor and develop more junior members of the team
• Provide support to graduates and APC candidates
• Play an active role in maintaining and developing client relationships
• Support the senior leadership team with the delivery of services and wider growth plans
• Develop your commercial, leadership and business development capabilities

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• MRICS qualification – essential
• Experience at Senior or Associate level, or be ready to step into one of these positions
• A strong background within Commercial Building Surveying
• Experience across Commercial Office, Industrial and/or Retail property
• Dilapidations experience, ideally covering both landlord and tenant instructions
• Exposure to negotiations, or a strong interest in developing within this area
• Experience of taking ownership of projects and delivering work from start to finish, or a genuine ambition to develop this capability
• Strong client facing and communication skills
• An interest in mentoring and supporting junior members of the team
• The ambition to progress towards Associate Director and ultimately Director level
