A leading Building Consultancy is looking to appoint a Director / Head of Building Surveying to lead its London operation, working closely alongside the National Head of Building Surveying and taking a key role in shaping the future growth of the team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced MRICS Building Surveyor who is already operating at Director level and is ready to take ownership of a strong London team, develop existing talent, grow client relationships and make a genuine impact on an already successful business.
The Opportunity
You will join an established and highly regarded real estate practice, working alongside a strong team of Building Surveyors and taking a leading role within the London business. The work is varied and predominantly spans Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Retail and Mixed Use property. The client base is equally diverse, ranging from blue chip household names and major institutional clients through to smaller, carefully selected private sector clients. The role will cover a mixture of professional and project focused Building Surveying, with projects varying depending on client requirements. The team's expertise encompasses a broad range of services, including:
- Contract Administration
- Project Monitoring
- Pre Acquisition Surveys
- Technical Due Diligence
- Condition Surveys
- Reinstatement Cost Assessments
- Planned Preventative Maintenance
- Defect Diagnosis
- Building Pathology
- Project Management
And much more. You will have a strong team already around you, giving you the platform to step in, bring the London Building Surveying offering together and push it forward. This is not about inheriting a blank sheet of paper. It is about taking an already successful team and helping it reach its next level. About You
You will be an experienced MRICS Building Surveyor currently operating at Director level, with the leadership experience and commercial awareness to take responsibility for a successful London team. You will ideally bring:
- MRICS status - non negotiable
- Current experience operating at Director level
- The ability and ambition to lead a high performing London Building Surveying team
- A strong and varied technical background across Building Surveying
- Experience working with high end, sophisticated clients
- A proven ability to motivate, manage, grow and develop teams
- A strong track record of business development and winning new work
- The ability to demonstrate genuine commercial success and client relationship management
- A strong understanding of the London property market and Building Surveying sector
- A strong contact book and the ability to bring some existing client relationships or work with you would be a real bonus, although this is not essential.
The key requirement is that you can demonstrate a successful track record in Business Development, with clear examples of winning new work, developing client relationships and contributing to the growth of a Building Surveying business.
