An ambitious, growing consultancy based in South East London is expanding its Building Surveying team as part of a clear growth plan for the second half of 2026. With a strong pipeline of public sector work and a collaborative, multidisciplinary structure, this is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Building Surveyor or Building Surveyor looking to accelerate their development in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Two levels are available within the team:

  • Assistant Building Surveyor up to £40k
  • Building Surveyor up to £55k

Salary progression is directly linked to your professional development. As you progress through your APC competencies and achieve sign offs, your salary increases. This creates a highly motivating environment for those committed to achieving MRICS status.

The Role

The team has a strong public sector focus, delivering projects across:

  • Leisure centres
  • Education facilities
  • Residential schemes

There are also plans to broaden into additional sectors, including private sector work, as the business continues to grow. You will also be involved in framework agreements, working closely with other teams across the consultancy on multidisciplinary projects.

Project work is a key focus of the role, including:

  • Contract Administration
  • Project Management
  • Employers Agent duties

Alongside this, you will gain exposure to a varied range of professional services work such as:

  • Defect analysis
  • Specifications
  • Legal disrepair matters
  • General building surveying duties

APC & Career Development

Full APC support is firmly embedded within the business. You will have access to:

  • In-house APC mentors
  • A proven track record of successfully supporting surveyors to achieve chartership
  • A clear structure linking APC progress to salary growth
  • Career progression is actively encouraged and visible across the team.

The pathway is clear and achievable:

  • Chartered Surveyor
  • Senior Surveyor
  • Associate
  • Director

This is not theoretical progression; there is a demonstrable history of internal promotions that show this is genuinely attainable for ambitious individuals.

Working Environment

A hybrid working model is in place with two core days in the office where the team collaborates. Flexibility exists around a third day. Initially, being in the office more regularly is encouraged to help you integrate, understand the wider business and work closely with the multidisciplinary teams involved in many of the projects.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This is an ideal position for a surveyor who is serious about progressing their APC, gaining strong project exposure and developing within a consultancy that is clearly investing in its future growth and its people. The relationship between your development, responsibility, and reward is transparent and genuinely motivating.
