A well established multidisciplinary consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to join the business in a predominantly remote role. This position offers a high level of autonomy, minimal office attendance and a clear opportunity to grow into a team leadership role over time should that be of interest to you.
The Role
This is a remote position, with only occasional travel required to an office near Southampton for team meetings or company gatherings. You will be responsible for undertaking inspections and reporting across a portfolio of live construction projects. Current sites are located between Reading, Poole and Southampton, with further work anticipated within these regions as the consultancy continues to grow. There is a genuine opportunity for this role to develop into a team management position, including responsibility for helping to build and lead a Clerk of Works function, should this align with your career goals.
The Company
The business is a multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation for trust, flexibility and long term career development. What sets them apart:
- Full autonomy in how you manage your workload and inspections
- No micromanagement - performance is measured on quality and outcomes
- A culture that rewards high performance
- The flexibility to build a career path tailored to you
- Equal support if you prefer to remain in a hands on technical role long term
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Proven experience working as a Clerk of Works, ideally on New Build Residential projects
- Membership of the Institute of Clerk of Works (or working towards membership)
- A willingness to travel as required, with current projects ranging from Reading to Southampton (locations will evolve as new work is secured)
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Strong IT skills, including completing reports on a tablet, attaching photographs and submitting documentation to the Surveying team
Whats on Offer
- Salary up to Β£60k, dependent on experience
- Clear progression opportunities, with development geared towards team leadership and management
- Exceptional autonomy - provided inspections and reporting are completed to a high standard, you will be trusted to deliver the role in your own way
- A supportive consultancy environment that values professionalism, independence and quality
