Senior / Associate Project Manager / Employer's Agent - London

I am currently working with a well established and highly regarded property and construction consultancy in London that is looking to add a Senior or Associate level Project Manager or Employer's Agent to its growing team. The great thing about this opportunity is the flexibility around level. If you're currently a Surveyor looking to take the next step, a Senior Surveyor/Project Manager who wants to establish yourself within a new consultancy, or an Associate looking for a business that offers greater autonomy and a better long term fit, there is scope for you here. The role The workload is predominantly residential, with a genuinely varied project portfolio. You could be working on everything from individual developments through to major regeneration schemes involving multiple phases of redevelopment over a number of years. There is also exposure to commercial, education and leisure projects, meaning the role offers plenty of variety rather than being focused on one type of project. Your responsibilities will include: Providing Employer's Agent and Contract Administration services from inception through to completion Providing pre contract services, including chairing design team meetings and managing the pre construction phase Managing consultant fee budgets and monthly expenditure reporting Preparing, regulating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts Advising clients on procurement routes and different forms of contract Identifying, quantifying and managing project risk Assessing value for money throughout the project lifecycle Administering JCT contracts and Development Agreements Chairing project meetings and maintaining strong client relationships Valuing works completed on site and certifying payments Assessing cost variations Preparing cost reports and cash flows Preparing and agreeing final accounts Assessing and agreeing extensions of time and loss & expense claims Mentoring Assistant Surveyors and supporting their professional development What are they looking for? Ideally, you'll have a proven track record of successfully delivering residential development projects from inception through to completion. Experience in the following would be advantageous: 5+ years' experience delivering the Employer's Agent role Experience working on/managing larger scale residential developments Confidence when dealing directly with clients Strong technical knowledge of construction Experience with JCT contracts and Development Agreements Excellent communication and workload management skills A methodical approach to your work Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure A genuine ambition to continue developing your technical skills A team player mentality and the ability to work closely with clients and colleagues Commitment to the RICS and completing the APC, if not already achieved - MRICS would be advantageous but is not essential. Previous experience in a similar role is more important, and there is support available for anyone who wants to work towards Chartership. Why consider it?
