Are you an MRICS Building Surveyor looking for more variety, greater exposure to projects and clients, and a consultancy where progression genuinely happens when you're ready for it?

Our client is looking to appoint either a Chartered Building Surveyor or Senior Building Surveyor to join their growing London Building Surveying team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy at an exciting stage of growth, with the business continuing to secure new instructions from an impressive portfolio of blue chip clients across the country.

The Business

Our client is an established national multidisciplinary consultancy with an outstanding reputation across the property and construction market. Their collaborative approach means Building Surveyors work closely alongside Project Managers, Cost Consultants and Monitoring Surveyors to deliver fully integrated solutions for clients. The business has grown steadily over recent years and has developed a reputation as a consultancy where people stay, develop and progress their careers long term.

This vacancy has arisen due to an increasing pipeline of work and continued growth within the London office, with plans already in place to add additional junior support to the team later this year. It is an exciting time to be joining the business as they continue to invest in their people and expand their Building Surveying offering.

The Role

One of the biggest attractions of this opportunity is the sheer variety of work available. This is a genuine mix of project and professional Building Surveying instructions where no two projects are the same. Your workload could include:

  • Pre-Acquisition Surveys
  • Technical Due Diligence
  • Defect Analysis
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance Programmes
  • Schedules of Condition
  • Dilapidations
  • Retrofit and Sustainability Projects
  • Employer's Agent Duties
  • Contract Administration
  • Party Wall Matters
  • And much more

Importantly, workloads are tailored around your experience, interests and long-term career aspirations rather than forcing surveyors into a rigid service line.

Diverse Projects and Clients

The consultancy works across an exceptionally broad range of sectors with several market leading and blue chip clients. Projects span:

  • Commercial Offices
  • Retail
  • Residential
  • Sports Stadiums
  • Industrial
  • Hotels
  • Public Sector
  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Leisure and Mixed-Use Developments

The diversity of work means you’ll continually broaden your experience and avoid becoming pigeonholed into one asset class or service offering.

The Environment

The London office offers a modern and welcoming working environment conveniently located close to Liverpool Street Station, making commuting straightforward from across London and the South East. Hybrid working is fully embraced, with surveyors typically spending 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days working from home.

Career Development

Progression is clear, transparent and actively encouraged. The business has an excellent track record of promoting from within and will always explore internal opportunities across all disciplines before making external appointments. Career progression is based on your readiness and contribution rather than waiting for annual review cycles or vacancies to appear above you. If you’re ambitious and ready for the next step, the opportunity is there for you to take it.

Requirements

  • MRICS qualified Building Surveyor
  • Consultancy background preferred
  • Experience across either professional services, project work or ideally a combination of both
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Desire to develop within a leading multidisciplinary consultancy

Package

  • Salary up to £70k
  • Bonus Scheme
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package
  • Hybrid Working
  • Genuine Career Progression
  • Exposure to High Profile Projects and Clients

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy with an exceptional reputation, diverse workload and a culture that genuinely invests in its people.
