Are you a Chartered Building Surveyor looking to join a consultancy that genuinely invests in its people, offers long term career progression and provides the opportunity to work on a varied, project focused workload? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established, highly regarded multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong track record of developing talent and supporting people throughout their careers. With offices in Central London and South East London, the business is looking to strengthen its Building Surveying team with an MRICS qualified Surveyor who enjoys delivering projects, building client relationships and developing their career within a supportive environment. The Opportunity This is a predominantly project focused role, with Contract Administration, Project Management and Employer's Agent work forming the core of your workload. You will be involved in a varied portfolio of projects, working directly with clients and taking responsibility for delivering projects from inception through to completion. Approximately 75% of the workload will be residential, with a strong public sector focus. The remaining 25% will typically involve commercial and education projects. The business is continuing to develop its service offering, creating opportunities for the commercial side of the portfolio to grow. If you have a stronger commercial background and would like to retain a greater proportion of this work, the team will look to accommodate this wherever possible. You can also expect a healthy balance of major new build projects alongside refurbishment and fit-out schemes, giving you exposure to a broad range of project types and challenges. Alongside your core project responsibilities, you will also undertake a variety of professional Building Surveying instructions, your workload could include: Contract Administration and Project Management. Employer's Agent services. Schedules of Condition. Building defect diagnosis and specifications. Damp, mould and disrepair investigations. Stock condition surveys. You will be client facing from the outset, building relationships with a varied client base and adapting your approach to suit different clients, projects and requirements. Career Development and Progression One of the standout features of this opportunity is the firm's commitment to long term career development. This is a consultancy that offers genuine longevity, with structured training and development available at every level, from Graduate through to Director. Professional development is embedded throughout the business, and everyone is encouraged to contribute to the growth and success of the team. Joining as a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will have a clear opportunity to progress through the ranks to Senior Building Surveyor, Associate, Senior Associate and ultimately Director. This isn't simply a progression structure on paper. Numerous colleagues have followed this pathway during their time with the business, demonstrating the opportunities available to those who want to develop their technical ability, client relationships and leadership skills. If you are looking for an employer where you can establish yourself, continue learning and build a long term career rather than needing to move elsewhere to progress, this is well worth exploring. What Are We Looking For? To be considered, you should be an MRICS qualified Building Surveyor with a well-rounded technical background and a genuine interest in project delivery. Ideally, you will have a consultancy background, although candidates currently working client-side will also be welcomed. You should have experience of the residential sector, or a clear interest in developing your career within residential and public sector work. Experience across Contract Administration, Project Management and/or Employer's Agent services would be particularly relevant. You will also need to be comfortable working directly with clients, understanding their individual requirements and tailoring your communication and approach accordingly. Experience supporting, mentoring or coaching junior colleagues would be advantageous, particularly if you are interested in taking on greater responsibility as your career develops. Above all, the business is looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working collaboratively and wants to contribute to a team that places real value on its people. What's on Offer? Salary up to Β£70k, with some flexibility for an exceptional candidate. Hybrid working β just two days in the office per week. 25 days annual leave, plus a Christmas office shutdown. Payment of professional membership fees. Pension scheme. Healthcare benefits. Structured training and development. A clear progression pathway through to Director. A varied project portfolio spanning residential, commercial and education sectors. The opportunity to work within a strong multidisciplinary consultancy that actively invests in its people. Interested? If you are an MRICS Building Surveyor looking for a role that combines interesting project work, a supportive team environment and genuine long-term progression, this could be an excellent next step.
