Are you looking for a Building Surveying role where your development genuinely comes first?
An established and highly regarded consultancy is looking to appoint an ambitious Graduate Building Surveyor to join its growing London team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has already gained some practical Building Surveying experience, whether through a placement year, an internship or your first graduate role, and is now looking to build a long term career within a consultancy that places learning, development and career progression at the heart of everything it does.
A Culture Built Around Learning & Development This consultancy has created an environment where graduates are encouraged to learn, ask questions and continually develop their technical knowledge.
You'll be joining a supportive team that understands the challenges of starting your career and provides the guidance needed to become a confident and capable Building Surveyor.
They're looking for someone with genuine ambition to develop professionally.
You should have a clear desire to become MRICS and understand the importance of the APC process as part of your career.
Whether you've already started your APC journey or you're looking for a move to a consultancy that can provide the support you need to progress, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
Market Leading APC Support APC training is one of the consultancy's biggest strengths.
The business has an outstanding APC pass rate, with successful candidates across multiple recent assessment sittings.
What makes the support particularly effective is the structure of the business itself, every team has its own dedicated APC mentor.
This means you'll benefit from regular day to day guidance, weekly catch ups and continuous support throughout your APC journey, rather than relying solely on occasional formal meetings.
Your APC won't be something you manage alone.
It will be embedded into your everyday working life, ensuring you're continually developing towards chartership.
The Role You'll gain exposure to a varied workload, with a particular focus on residential projects, including both new build developments and refurbishment schemes.
Alongside residential work, you'll also have the opportunity to work across commercial, education and healthcare projects, providing the breadth of experience needed to develop into a well rounded Chartered Building Surveyor.
Your responsibilities will include: Contract Administration Specifications Defect Diagnosis and Reporting Project Management Employer's Agent Working alongside experienced Building Surveyors across a diverse range of projects This varied workload will provide excellent exposure across the APC competencies while allowing you to develop both technically and commercially.
About You You'll ideally have: An RICS accredited Building Surveying degree (or equivalent) Practical Building Surveying experience through a placement year or within another graduate role A genuine ambition to achieve MRICS status Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn A proactive attitude and desire to build a long term career This opportunity would particularly suit someone who has started their career elsewhere but feels they aren't receiving the level of mentoring, APC support or project exposure needed to reach their full potential.
Salary & Benefits Salary up to £40k, depending on experience and APC progress Industry leading APC mentoring and structured development Hybrid working, typically 2-3 days in the office, depending on project and client requirements A collaborative office environment with experienced surveyors available every day for support and mentoring Excellent long term career prospects One of the standout benefits is the firm's commitment to rewarding professional achievement.
Upon achieving MRICS status, you can expect an immediate salary increase to around £55k (based on today's market), recognising the value of your qualification and development.
Career Progression Career progression is clear, transparent and based on your own development rather than arbitrary timescales.
As you progress through your APC, you'll work towards becoming a Building Surveyor.
Once you've achieved MRICS status, you'll move into the role of Chartered Building Surveyor, with clearly defined pathways through to Senior Surveyor, Associate, Senior Associate and ultimately Director.
Many of the firm's current Directors began their careers as Graduates or Assistant Surveyors, demonstrating a genuine commitment to promoting from within and investing in long term careers.
If you're looking for a consultancy that will invest in your development, provide exceptional APC support and offer genuine long term career progression, we'd love to hear from you.
