A growing Building Surveying consultancy in South East London is looking to appoint a Building Surveyor at Graduate, Assistant or Surveyor level. This is a flexible hire aimed at individuals early in their careers, as well as those already operating at Assistant or Surveyor level who are seeking stronger APC support, broader project exposure and a clearly defined progression pathway within a structured and expanding team. The business is currently in a growth phase, with continued expansion planned throughout this year and beyond, creating genuine long-term development opportunities.

Role Overview

The workload is primarily residential, offering a varied mix of professional and project based surveying duties across both new build and refurbishment schemes. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Contract administration
  • Defect diagnosis and reporting
  • Specifications and schedules of work
  • Schedules of condition
  • Building safety and fire safety-related matters
  • General residential surveying duties

There will also be opportunities to gain exposure to education and healthcare projects, providing additional variety across sectors.

Candidate Requirements

  • RICS accredited degree (essential)
  • Consultancy experience preferred, though not essential for more junior levels
  • Ideally working towards APC or seeking structured APC support
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, motivated approach with a willingness to develop and progress
