A respected construction consultancy are looking to appoint a Senior or Associate level Building Surveyor to join their South East London office. This role has arisen due to increasing workload, not staff turnover, reflecting the strong retention and positive working culture within the business.
This position offers the chance to work on meaningful public sector projects, with a particular focus on social and affordable housing (both new build and refurbishment) alongside education schemes.

- Specifications writing
- Defect diagnosis and reporting
- Project Management
- Employers Agent duties
- Damp and Mould investigations
- General Building Surveying across refurbishment and new build schemes
There is flexibility to rotate across sectors for variety or to specialise long term, depending on your career goals.
Working Arrangement
This is a hybrid role, typically:
- 23 days in the office
- 23 days working from home
- Site visits arranged around your schedule
Office attendance is flexible; if your workload doesn't require you to be in the office, there is no expectation to be there. Equally, if you prefer office working, you are welcome. The focus is on autonomy and delivering work in the way that suits you best.
About You
- Senior or Associate level Building Surveyor depending on experience
- Ideally MRICS, though strong consultancy experience is welcomed, support towards MRICS is available if not yet chartered. MCIOB also considered favourably
- Comfortable working across public sector projects
- Able to manage projects autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team
- Experience in another Building Surveying role with public sector facing work
