Assistant Building Surveyor – London – Up to £40k An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Building Surveyor to join a well established and growing Building Consultancy team in London. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious surveyor looking to develop their technical experience, progress towards MRICS and build a long term career within a highly respected consultancy environment. The Role The Building Consultancy team provides a broad range of professional and project consultancy services across the property lifecycle. Their work includes building surveys, technical due diligence, defect investigations, schedules of condition, dilapidations, planned maintenance advice, project management, development monitoring, Party Wall matters and wider technical consultancy. The variety of work available means you will have the opportunity to build a genuinely rounded Building Surveying skillset, working across different property types, clients and project requirements rather than becoming restricted to one particular area of surveying. You will initially work alongside experienced Chartered Surveyors, supporting on a range of instructions before gradually taking on greater responsibility as your technical knowledge and confidence develops. Typical responsibilities will include: Assisting with commercial building surveys and technical due diligence. Undertaking property inspections and preparing detailed reports. Assisting with schedules of condition and dilapidations. Supporting defect diagnosis and building pathology investigations. Assisting with planned maintenance advice. Supporting project management and contract administration instructions. Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation. Attending client and project meetings. Liaising with clients, contractors and other professional advisers. Taking increasing responsibility for instructions as your experience develops. Excellent APC Support One of the major attractions of this opportunity is the strength of the APC support available. There have been recent successful APC candidates, while others within the team are currently progressing through their own pathway. You will receive guidance from experienced Chartered Surveyors who are invested in helping you achieve your MRICS qualification, with exposure to the breadth of work required to develop into a well rounded Chartered Building Surveyor.
