We are looking for a medical receptionist to join our team for 30 hours per week. Days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to:
- Greeting and directing patients
- Effective use of the appointment system
- Booking appointments
- Processing of information and assisting patients as required
- Acting as the central point of contact for patients
- Distribution of information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team
- Liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers
Main duties of the job:
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
- Processing personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
- Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately
- Signposting patients to the correct service
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Reading code data on SystmOne
- Photocopying documentation as required
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Inputting data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary
- Directing requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
- Managing all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Carrying out system searches as requested
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Monitoring and maintaining the reception area and notice boards
- Supporting all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
- All other duties that are allocated to them
About us: Woodhouse Hill Surgery is based in Fartown Huddersfield. We are part of Kirklees ICB. We have approximately 4500 patients. Our lead GP is Dr Weqas Ahmed.
Job responsibilities: In addition to the duties previously mentioned, the receptionist may be requested to:
- Scan patient-related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records
- Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
- As required, support the team in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently
- Order and monitor stationery supplies
