DCA Claims Handler – Woodgate & Clark Limited

About the Role

You will be part of a highly efficient DCA team that is agile, technically excellent, and continuously evolving to meet the needs of its clients. The role involves allocating, monitoring, handling, and authorising claims in line with client service level agreements and delegated authority levels. Claims are managed from first notice of loss (FNOL) through to conclusion, including payment management and MI reporting.

Responsibilities

As a DCA Claims Handler you will:

  • Manage claims from cradle to grave, making accurate policy engagement and coverage decisions and validating scheme binder data.
  • Keep fully up‑to‑date on client requirements, technical or legal changes, and GDPR compliance.
  • Maintain accurate reserves and data integrity throughout the claim life cycle.
  • Review technical reports, quotations, invoices, and updates, and provide instructions within approved authority levels.
  • Refer claims above authority levels and record referral action points.
  • Escalate cases to insurers and the DCA Operations manager when reserve, repudiations, policy voidance or complaints exceed limits.
  • Ensure fees applied are accurate and meet client requirements.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients to support changes and modifications to requirements.
  • Strive to provide an excellent end‑customer experience with clear communication, guidance and signposting throughout the claim lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and highlight any contravention to the Head of Risk and Compliance.
  • Uphold the company code of business conduct at all times.
  • Carry out any other function or task reasonably expected within your span of knowledge and ability.

Education and Experience

  • Intermediate to advanced cradle‑to‑grave commercial claims experience within the sector.
  • Working knowledge of insurance principles and policy interpretation.
  • Regulatory compliance experience.
  • Experience within DCA operations.
  • Qualifications: CII and/or CILA.
