Woodford Primary School is seeking an inspiring SENCO and Inclusion Lead to join our team for the new academic year. This is a pivotal role where you will provide the strategic vision for inclusion across the school, championing the needs of pupils with SEND, EAL, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. You will lead a dedicated team of support staff to embed inclusive practice into the heart of our curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Determine the strategic development of the school's SEND policy and provision, ensuring it aligns with the School Improvement Plan.
  • Statutory Compliance: Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the SEND policy and ensure all statutory requirements, including EHCPs and Annual Reviews, are met with tenacity.
  • Staff Development: Provide professional guidance and high‑quality CPD to colleagues, modeling best‑practice inclusive teaching.
  • Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for external agencies, including Local Authorities and health professionals, while building strong partnerships with parents and carers.
  • Data Analysis: Use assessment data to identify barriers to learning and monitor the impact of interventions.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) (or equivalent NPQ).
  • Have a proven track record of successful teaching and experience in a leadership or SEND role.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current educational legislation.
  • Be an excellent communicator who can inspire commitment and work collaboratively within a team.
