Treasurer

We're seeking a new Treasurer for our charity running a small community centre on beautiful Tooting Common. As Treasurer, you will be the financial steward of our organisation, ensuring that we have the monetary resources needed to fulfil our charitable mission, manage and account for funds received, and plan effectively for our long‑term goals. You will support the day‑to‑day running of the charity through financial management, compliance, and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present budgets and financial statements.
  • Design and maintain robust financial policies and procedures.
  • Advise the board and centre manager on fundraising strategies.
  • Maintain bank accounts and process salary payments for our two employees.
  • Build and sustain a funding base to support the charity’s operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Background in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Attention to detail combined with strategic thinking.
  • Ability to balance risks and opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills to explain financial information to non‑financial board members.

Commitment & Location

We are looking for someone who is local to the Woodfield Pavilion on Tooting Common, can devote four hours a week, and is willing to commit to the role for the next three years.
