Role Description
The Business Development Manager is a full-time, role with Hybrid working.
This role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients in the Oil and Gas sector, and expanding market presence for Woodfield.
The Business Development Manager will conduct market research, prepare proposals and quotations, lead client presentations, and collaborate with internal engineering and project teams to align offerings with customer requirements.
Day-to-day activities include managing a sales pipeline, negotiating commercial terms, attending industry events, and providing regular reporting on business development activities and performance.
The role also involves working closely with senior leadership to support strategic planning and contribute to revenue growth and long-term customer partnerships.
A background where the candidate is closely involved with both end users and EPC's is critical.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within engineering, Oil and Gas, or industrial equipment sectors.
- Strong skills in customer relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder communication, with the ability to present technical solutions clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to conduct market and competitor research, develop commercial strategies, and manage a structured sales pipeline from prospecting through to closing.
- Familiarity with project coordination and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and logistics.
- Proficiency with standard business software tools (e. g., CRM systems, office productivity applications) and comfort preparing reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality service to clients.
- Willingness to travel in UK as well as occasionally overseas as required for client visits, site meetings, and industry events.
- Relevant academic background in business, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
