Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Training & Competence Advisor to join the Aberdeen team on a maternity cover basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the business with support and advice on higher level training and competence matters.
  • Provide support and guidance to Skills Pool team members ensuring consistency of application.
  • Support the review training and competence frameworks in line with business and industry requirements and standards.
  • Management of approved centre and correspondence with Awarding Bodies.
  • Administration of Vocational Qualifications and In-House Logbooks including applications of accredited certification where applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring legislative compliance with awarding body standards.
  • Administer, monitor, and control the electronic competence management system (CMS).
  • Provide information, support and guidance to the Skills Pool Coordinators, Competence Specialists, and onsite assessment teams.
  • Lead, audit & manage internal reviews in respect to the quality management system processes utilised for both the awarding bodies and in-house competence standards.
  • Identify better efficient ways of working and develop and revise processes and procedures.
  • Identify problems and come up with solutions.

Key accountabilities:

  • Participate in standalone projects as required.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Management of Skillspool mailbox and in-house systems.
  • Query and Service level Management – both Internal and external clients.
  • Proactive management and ownership of data stored in various systems within business area.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum Experience:

  • Previous Training & Competence experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and information to a range of audiences and stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, to work collaboratively to achieve objectives.
  • Monitors compliance with standards and processes to assure optimal delivery.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and prioritise.
  • Able to provide effective team management to achieve complex or high priority objectives, and develop others personally and professionally.
  • Strong ability to work flexibly - managing changing and competing priorities and absorbing new information rapidly to address complex issues including workforce planning.
  • Able to apply judgement, creativity and flexibility to generate new and innovative ideas and approaches and to solve complex problems.
  • Able to challenge and influence others, including more senior colleagues and stakeholders, to ensure that the right outcomes are achieved.
