Wood is seeking an established Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to support our growing workload within the Commercial area of our Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd entity. As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are at the forefront of net zero 2050 with a secured workstream for years to come.

The preference would be for a site based individual but hybrid and remote/home working with travel may also be considered. This role is perfect for an established and commercially minded Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor from a civils/ infrastructureor constructionbackground who is comfortable working as the Principal Contractor,although not essential,with a wide range ofprojectsunder their belt who is looking for a new high-profile multi-million-pound contract challenge. The successful candidate will be experienced in cost & change control, contract & subcontract administration, and project reporting. Successful delivery will involve managing the Client and Subcontractor simultaneously. There will be opportunityfor future progression andto workon furtherScotland based transmission and distribution projects thereafter. Sound commercial judgement, flexibility, the ability to collaborate with others via MS Teams and travel to sites acrossScotlandis key.

The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial support concerning financial and contractual matters arising through the management of our client project. This role involvespost award contract administration, provision of commercial/ contract deliverables, implementation of project plans; undertaking costs analysis, preparation of cashflow forecasts, developing subcontracting commercial strategy as required; contributing to internal project reviews and developing project forecasts. You will enjoy the challenges of the project just starting construction, monitoring execution to tight deadlines, identifying Wood entitlement and managing performance within budgets.

Expected:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies along with appropriate professional qualification (preferred)
- Substantial demonstrated experience within a QS role preferably gained from a transmission and distribution overhead lines background although not essential
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Awareness of all relevant corporate and project procedures
- Proven experience in contract administration including change management
