Senior Project Engineer (EOI)

Wood is currently seeking expression of interest for two Senior Project Engineers to support the development of several projects in the Life Science/ Pharmaceutical industries. This is a key role that encompasses the management of others for the quality and timely delivery of the work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers. We are open to considering both contractors or staff for this role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contributes to the Project Execution Plan, Discipline Design Instruction and Contract requisitions; prepares project plans and multi-discipline documents such as basis of design, subcontract scopes of work.
• Able to manage and coordinate engineering multidiscipline inputs and deliverables across multiple execution centres including workshare / high value engineering centres.
• Management/supervision of 3rd party sub-contractors and construction teams on-site.
• Work within clients teams as an integral part of the delivery organisation.
• Understands and works to quality system; monitors and acts on deficiencies. Checks Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues are identified and addressed in design, manufacture, construction, commissioning and operations.
• Develops Project Specific Procedures. Ensures that the Engineering disciplines comply strictly with the contract and scope of work in completing project activities.
• Responsible for assuring quality of engineering deliverables before issue to customer.
• Chairs technical meetings with Third Parties and manages particular technical issues through to completion.
• Ability to manage the qualification requirements of equipment in a GMP facility.
• Plans individual work activities and manages time; liaises with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments. Inputs to work plan, sets targets, and holds regular reviews.
• Expedite Engineers to deliver to schedule, fully understand reasons for the delay and drive the development of recovery plans.
• Lead vendor interactions and technical approval of equipment purchasing.
• Highlights and quantifies changes that impact work. Able to effect change when approved.
• Supervises work of technical professionals in the delivery of engineering deliverables including checking work.
• Coordinates medium-sized interdisciplinary team (typically 10-50). Communicates to facilitate work effort; motivates team; strong, positive and active in solutions and proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• Recognised Qualification in a Mechanical or Process Engineering discipline.
• Preferable chartered engineer and member of recognized institution.
• Relevant proven experience in multidiscipline engineering management within engineering projects for the life science/ pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience of working with GMP facilities and equipment.
