Wood are seeking Senior / Lead Electrical Engineering services to facilitate work on various projects for a duration of 12 months in our Darlington office. The purpose of the role is to execute Electrical discipline engineering activities within budget and schedule, maintaining technical integrity. The appointed will act as Discipline Focal Point / Lead Engineer in order to execute electrical engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design).

Prime responsibilities and duties:

  • Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract.
  • Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems.
  • Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements.
  • Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.
  • Maintain the required technical quality of work.
  • Ensure that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
  • Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes.
  • Continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
  • Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
  • Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
  • Maintain discipline filing system.
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • UK Bachelors Degree or HNC (or equivalent with experience) in appropriate engineering subject.
  • Experienced engineer with a strong technical background and expertise.
  • Highly experienced in site surveys and data gathering on brownfield projects.
  • Experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline.
  • Competent in use of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs.
  • Aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering.
  • Background in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industries.
  • Able to work with other disciplines and draughting sections to meet delivery dates.
  • Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work.
  • Competent in design safety / environmental requirements and procedures.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution.
