Wood is recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join our Process & Energy business within the Operations team. You will work directly with our client GSK where you will be responsible for the end-to-end sourcing process (Strategy through Close Out) for the major procurement / subcontract packages.
This role is open to hybrid working with 3 days at the client’s office in Ware and 2 days remote.
The Role
As a Senior Buyer you will have clear understanding of the client’s contract requirements including Wood responsibilities and knowledge of how these are integrated into project supply chain strategies, plans, procedures and terms and conditions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to further their career within a Supply Chain function. Our client GSK is a Pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D organisation. The Ware site operates 24/7 with 2 manufacturing streams OSD (Oral Solid Dose) Tablets and Capsules and Respiratory Inhalators for Asthma. The CapEx project team delivers projects across the Ware site including Infrastructure, Facilities, Utilities, Manufacturing Equipment (Dispensing, Blending, Sieving, Granulation, Compression, Coating and Assembly, labelling, Packing, Serialisation, Storage and Distribution). The R&D site (Research and Development) work closely with the Manufacturing site to ensure smooth and seamless scaling up of NPI from small R&D batches to large scale commercial batches.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
- Provides guidance, direction and support to all relevant stakeholders both on the contract and suppliers specific contractual obligations and responsibilities
- Ensures all supply chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan / schedule and contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures
- Assisting with development of processes and procedures, and communication to relevant personnel
- Update the project / procurement status report (PSR) in line with project / client required on site dates and current / estimate lead times, notifying any delays to the supply chain lead
- Carry out Supplier performance reviews and ongoing management ensuring corrective actions are taken where required
- Ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and procedures are complied with and all actions are fully auditable
- Understands and works to the client’s Project Management Framework, mandatory and best practice procedures
