Wood is seeking a Delivery Focal Point (Senior Project Engineer) to join The Hub in Aberdeen, playing a pivotal role in building strong client relationships, driving business growth within the Wood Upstream Business and delivering excellent scopes. This role will be based out of our Fabrication facility Craigshaw drive, Tullos, Aberdeen on a fixed term contract.

The Delivery Focal Point will be responsible for managing and delivering Tier 1 and Tier 2 scopes across multiple clients. This role centers on building strong, long‑term partnerships, expanding our portfolio, and consistently providing exceptional service. Beyond day‑to‑day delivery, you will play a key role in business development—identifying new opportunities, shaping future scopes, and driving the growth of our service offering. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will understand client needs, anticipate challenges, and propose value‑adding solutions that strengthen relationships and increase our footprint across existing and emerging workstreams.

Job Objective

  • Lead client and stakeholder engagement, fostering long-term relationships
  • Drive business development initiatives to secure new work and grow existing accounts
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Manage delivery of Tier 1 & Tier 2 scopes across multiple clients through coordinating and delivering the engineering to the agreed schedule and cost and in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, and standards
  • Act as the primary interface between clients and the company
  • Coordinate the engineering/design and construction elements to support the timely issuing of engineering deliverables to meet project specifications
  • Monitor and support compliance with quality, HSE and assurance standards
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers
  • Alert Client and project teams in the event of potential delays or change; support implementation of approved changes
  • Seek longer term continual improvements, smarter, quicker

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a cross-functional team spanning engineering, construction, project controls, and planning to deliver high-quality projects and solutions
  • Act as the primary client interface, building strong relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery
  • Drive business development by identifying opportunities to expand Wood’s portfolio and secure new work streams
  • Ensure delivery meets contractual requirements and exceeds client expectations through proactive performance management
  • Own the achievement of internal and external KPIs, reporting on progress and implementing corrective actions where required
  • Provide regular reviews of portfolio performance, identifying risks and developing recovery strategies where needed
  • Oversee schedule preparation, forecasting, and delivery planning across multiple scopes and clients
  • Champion continuous improvement, challenging existing processes and implementing innovative solutions
  • Monitor Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) compliance, ensuring standards are upheld across all activities
  • Support proposal development and tendering activities to win new business and strengthen client partnerships

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Experience in business development, identifying and securing new opportunities to grow a portfolio of work
  • Solid understanding of project engineering principles within Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries, ideally with exposure to brownfield modifications or repair orders
  • Strong commercial awareness, including familiarity with contractual and financial aspects of project delivery
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels internally and externally
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, able to motivate and guide cross-functional teams to deliver results
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, procedures, and work practices, with a commitment to accuracy and timely delivery
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement in processes and performance
  • Understanding of HSES principles and commitment to maintaining high safety standards
