Responsibilities
The Role
You will be providing guidance and direction to a team in the operational and maintenance delivery of one or more customer contracts. This will typically be a long-term (multiple-year) contracts delivering services to one or more customer assets or facilities which may include production operations, marine operations, maintenance, upgrades and brownfield modifications to hardware and plant.
You will be Responsible for the delivery of performance in the assigned area, including HSSEA, duty of care, training and competency, people performance, KPI’s, delivering on the local business plan and supporting the development of the strategy.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a weekly/monthly site visit and working schedule, allowing visibility and connection with the client and site workforce.
- Working with the Wood team and Client(s) team to identify and correct any working practices that could be detrimental to operational outcomes or HSSE performance, impacting Wood or Client staff or business reputation
- Work closely with Client(s) leadership to understand and set priorities for delivery, clearly communicating realistic and achievable delivery milestones.
- Responsible for the delivery of contract performance, directly focusing on the assigned customer/ contract(s)
- Provides tactical direction to operational delivery team(s) in order to meet our regional business plan goals
- Carries out significant operational administrative functions, staffing activities and managing day-to-day employee relations and operational requirements.
- Ensure our people and the worksites at which they operate are safe and well managed
- Responsible for maintaining positive customer relationships, fostering and enhancing relationship management with open, honest and effective communications.
- Negotiates on behalf of Wood changes to contract scope or terms with the customer. Follows the Change Management process to identify and approve scope, cost and schedule and manages risks
- Maintain operational integrity and excellence, ensuring robust governance, subcontractor management, and performance reporting through monthly PMRs.
- Work with leadership and peers to improve delivery performance and maximise delivery and growth opportunities throughout the wider business where required.
- Pursue and develop opportunities for innovation, such as digitalisation and technology use, work share and high-value engineering centres, to bring value to Wood and customers
- Support bid and tender activity as required and assume responsibility for positioning and new growth opportunities
- Understand customer needs beyond the immediate scope and introduce other Wood Service Lines to the Customer to grow the overall scope for Wood and add value to the Customer/Asset
- Ownership of HSSEA matters across the sites: ensure HSSEA values are delivered and adhered to at all times, continuously influencing and personally role modelling safety behavioural values and Life Saving Rules. Focus the team to attain all HSE plans, ensuring an HSSE improvement plan is live and communicated, supporting continuous improvement and ensuring legislative compliance
- Is a champion and role model for ethical behaviour and compliance with applicable laws and policies
- Responsible for the development and growth of the contract team through Wood’s own Individual Performance Review process
- Responsible for recruitment, selection and development of talent, ensuring effective performance and capability management, acting as a coach/mentor and encouraging and supporting open and effective communication to optimise delivery of objectives, maximise team performance and achieve continuous performance improvement
- Participate in peer reviews as required
- Deliver a monthly performance review to Wood management and our customers
- Responsible for ensuring the competence of employees in the area of responsibility to carry out assigned duties
- Ensure day-to-day operations maintain a continued alignment with overall customer and corporate policies, strategy and direction
- Maintain operational integrity and excellence, ensuring robust governance, subcontractor management, and performance reporting. Work with leadership and peers to improve delivery performance and maximise delivery opportunities throughout the wider business where required
- Establish and implement policies and ensure appropriate governance mechanisms for the continuous monitoring of their proper implementation
- Provide support and collaboration with HSSE reporting and incident investigations
- Responsible for the delivery of operations and maintenance services to our customers, including the provision of resources to deliver full scopes of work

Expected
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or acceptable qualifications in a related technical field OR degree qualified in a commercial/business discipline and/or equivalent
- Operations / Contract management experience, including smaller/lesser complex contracts and larger/more complex contracts/portfolios
- Track record of successful delivery within relevant industry sectors
- Broad understanding of the industry and with networking capability
- Experience of customer/contractor facing communication/negotiation
- Relevant technical expertise as applicable to the scope
- Ability to balance commerciality with operational excellence.
- Knowledge of current HSSEA and other legislation as applied to the industry.
- Ability to steer and implement change programmes.
- Ability to address a site team on safety, operational and employee matters with confidence.
