Join Wood as a Principal Civil Designer based in Reading. This role supports a major Middle East Onshore Energy project.
The ideal candidate will be technically strong and have experience within the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, LNG or Power Generation industry. Previous experience in a similar position would be highly beneficial.
Responsibilities:- Principal Designer based in the Reading office.
- Management, planning, definition, production and checking/review of Civil/Structural FEED and EPC level CSA deliverables.
- Ensuring compliance with project standards, procedures and definition requirements.
- Coordination and support to workshare (India) offices and more junior designers.
- Support to the Lead Civil Engineer as required.
- Ability to run model reviews.
- Min HNC or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience as a Principal Civil Designer in one or more of the following industry sectors: Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Pharmaceutical or Civil Infrastructure.
- Ideally experience gained in Middle-East execution with National Oil Companies.
- Experienced in running multi-disciplinary CSA teams including workshare execution.
- Experience of green and brownfield civil and structural works.
- High level of proficiency in management of deliverables and CAD design, including 2D Bentley MicroStation (V8i, CE) &/or AutoCAD 2020.
- High level of proficiency in 3D Visualization Packages, including SmartReview &/or Navisworks.
- Knowledgeable in 3D software Packages, including Integraph Smart-3D &/or Microstation OpenRoads Designer &/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Knowledgeable in PDF Review Packages, including Adobe PDF &/or BlueBeam.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and IT general skills.
