Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Quality Lead (contract). The role will be working at the Redcar site office of the Contractor on an energy transition project.

The Role

As a Project Quality Lead you will be responsible for implementing the project Quality Management System (QMS) in conformance with project quality management processes and Contract section V, including validation of conformance via SV&O activities.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing the projects Quality Management System (QMS) in conformance with client's quality management processes and for implementing Quality Assurance activities.
  • Implementing the project quality assurance activities identified in the Quality Plan during the design, procurement and construction activities of the project.
  • Providing guidance, advice and training to project team, contractors, suppliers inspectors and third parties as required to confirm understanding of the project Quality objectives.
  • Working with the EPCM Contractor to identify and manage the resources required to execute the inspection and surveillance schedule.
  • Contributing to the development of the project Quality Plan.
  • Developing a risk-based project audit schedule covering audits of the project management systems, contractor and suppliers, covering project team led, contractor led and combined audits.
  • Participation in R1T and Self Verification & Oversight programs.
  • Developing project specific Quality Management requirements for contractors and suppliers for inclusion in project contracts and purchase orders.
  • Providing quality expertise and input into the supplier and contractor bid evaluation process.
  • Participating / Lead supplier and contractor capability reviews as part of supplier selection to verify that the supplier can meet the specific project requirement.
  • Confirm the success of the Criticality Assessment process for procured equipment.
  • Implementing the Purchase Order Quality Requirements (POQR) process to identify the project quality requirements to be applied to purchase orders based on the criticality and associated risks.
  • Review and approve Contractor and Supplier Quality Management System certification, Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plan and other relevant quality documentation.
  • Liaising with the supplier-facing Quality Specialists to identify learnings from supplier activities which are to be incorporated in the engineering process.
  • Regularly collect, evaluate and report Quality Assurance KPIs from the project delivery teams and key contractors, for performance management by the project QM.
  • Capturing quality-related lessons for future projects via the Local and ETP Shared Learning System.
  • Incorporating applicable quality-related lessons learned from other projects.
  • Contributing to the project quality improvement process by conducting root cause investigations of applicable non-conformances, driving to true root cause and meaningful corrective actions.

Qualifications

What makes you remarkable?

  • Degree or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience as a quality Lead in construction / fabrication / pipeline installation.
  • Member of the CQI or equivalent Quality Management certifications.
  • Lead auditor training.
  • Relevant experience in:
  • Pipeline installation processes.
  • Structural steel fabrication.
  • Civil works.
  • Welding, NDT Processes and Control.
  • Pipeline coating systems.
  • Dimensional control.
  • System commissioning and Handover.
  • HSE.
