Wood is recruiting for Senior and Principal Project Engineers to join our team in Reading. We are currently looking for experienced individuals to support the development of a number of projects in the petroleum, petrochemical, chemicals, Oil & Gas sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a large multi-discipline Engineering Team.
- Project Scope management.
- Familiar with project work sequence, activities and deliverables for Engineering Disciplines at any project phase with knowledge and understanding of a contract.
- Ensure the project Quality Management System supports deliverables preparation and method of execution.
- Generate and authorise key documents including those directing Engineering strategy and implementation.
- Understand and manage the Technical Engineering Disciplines and associated Scope.
- Issue instructions to allow work to progress and facilitate agreement between conflicting requirements.
- Challenge working methods and deliverables and ensure project team compliance with project scope.
- Develop and manage the engineering input to the project schedule and drive the Engineering Team to comply with requirements, meet milestones and Key Performance Indicators.
- Identify, schedule and resource requirements for Design Verification.
- Understand project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues and ensure they are handled correctly.
- Identify risk and implement mitigations.
- Deputise for the Project Manager as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Prior background in project engineering predominantly in home office.
- Engineering Management experience, with some site experience.
- Extensive experience in an appropriate industry (ideally in one or more of Oil & Gas, LNG & GTL, Refining, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical, Power, Carbon Capture) and willingness to work both in the UK and overseas.
- Proven track record in Engineering Management and leading multi-discipline engineering teams.
- Commercially astute with an understanding of different approaches required to managing lump sum and reimbursable work.
- Broad technical knowledge combined with excellent leadership skills.
