Wood Life Sciences is seeking Mechanical Engineering services to facilitate work at a client pharmaceutical site based in Worthing, West Sussex. This is a contractor position for a minimum of 12 months. The appointed will ensure onsite services to supervise the extraction of pharmaceutical processing equipment, providing assistance to the Materials Management Department on engineering matters, inspection and witnessing of tests of major equipment as required.
Services to be provided:
- Management of workload and budgets, responding to client requirements as they arise
- Provide technical support to Engineering studies such as design reviews, HAZOP, SIL, and Constructability reviews
- Order placement and for any subsequent revisions
- Review of documentation requirements for integration within project
- Manage project documentation effectively, ensuring all disciplines are kept well informed
- Prepare consolidated comments and return these to the Vendor
- Correspond with the Vendor on technical matters and ensure that action is taken where necessary
Qualifications:
- Degree qualification or equivalent in Mechanical and/or Chemical Engineering, chartered status is also preferable.
- Extensive knowledge of international design codes for Rotating and Static Equipment e.g. ANSI, AMSE, ISO, API, BS.
- Previous experience as part of a dedicated or multi-discipline design team.
- Onsite experience in order to supervise the extraction of pharmaceutical processing equipment.
- Experience with a contractor, operator or consultancy on refinery, petrochemical, pharmaceutical or FMCG projects.
- Good standard of Technical Education required.
- Various degradation mechanisms of static equipment and applicable repair methods.
- Equipment obsolescence issues and managing equipment replacement.
- Membership of an appropriate Institute.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
