Overview
Wood Transmission and Distribution are recruiting for a Materials & Logistics Specialist based at the Port of Nigg, Scotland, supporting the project operational demand at the Port of Nigg (PoN) on arrival of materials and continued support to the project. In this role you will undertake the effective receipt, storage, movement and control of all materials to support the business. You will liaise with Supply Chain, user groups, third parties, client and Supply Base & Marine contractors to ensure that all materials and equipment are received, marshalled and shipped in accordance with company procedures and internal controls.

Responsibilities
- Accountable for the successful delivery of all materials and logistics activities that they are responsible for, including but not limited to:
- Allocation, control, issue and marshalling of materials between different work locations and supplier in accordance with project requirements and schedule/vessel sailings.
- Production of shipping documents for all materials movements.
- Timely updating of procurement system with goods receipts / manifests / shipping documentation.
- Warehouse materials handling e.g. OS&D checks, bagging and tagging, preparation for shipping and marshalling/loading of shipments.
- Identification of materials shortages and surplus.
- Control of Inventory in accordance with required inventory regime e.g. FIFO/Kanban and ensuring accuracy thereof by monitoring of warehouse activity, cycle counts and stock checks.
- Requisitioning and control of small plant and equipment/tooling/consumables.
- Production of Materials Status reporting to project and client.
- Coordinating material supply to and performance/delivery of fabrication items.
- Ensuring maintenance and preservation of materials is undertaken for stored equipment.
- Attending Project Progress Meetings / Purchase Order Pre-Production Meetings.
- Liaison with all Project personnel, client representatives, and suppliers where appropriate to resolve materials supply issues.
- Ensures all Supply Chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.
- Update the project / procurement status report (PSR) in line with project / client required on site dates and current / estimate lead and delivery times, notifying any delays to supply chain management.
- Carry out all activity in accordance with the Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct, ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and applicable processes and procedures are complied with and all documents are filed accurately and fully auditable.
- Ensures all Supply Chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.
- Ensures all requests from the project construction manager, are prepared and delivered to the project site.
- Promote safe working practices and demonstrate safety commitment.
- Understands and lives Wood\’s vision, values and behaviours.
- Understands and works to the Wood Financial Management Framework.
- Carry out all activity in accordance with the Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct.
- All other tasks as reasonably requested by line management.
Qualifications
- Qualified to ISCED Level 3 (Upper Secondary)
- Dangerous Goods by Sea & Air (not essential, role specific)
- Manual handling / Forklift licence experience (not essential, role specific)
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Minimum of 3 years materials / logistics experience demonstrating results
- Varied and detailed work experience in the industry which would allow understanding of and exposure to key material control and logistics concepts and principles
- Previous use of ERPs such as Maximo, Oracle, SAP
- Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of tools
