Wood is currently recruiting for a Noise and Vibration Assistant Consultant to be based in our Manchester office. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with an interest in environmental noise and vibration to join our friendly and hardworking team. The successful candidates will join our growing team and help to deliver our projects focusing on environmental noise and vibration. You will work alongside your colleagues in the Noise and Vibration Team as well as colleagues in the wider Environmental Assessment Team to deliver project work. The position would be based on a flexible working pattern with at least part time being office based. Our current Noise team members are based in the Manchester, Bristol and London offices, and although the position will initially be based in Manchester, there may be opportunity to move to one of our other established offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Your role will be to provide technical input to a variety of noise and vibration assessments as well as supporting senior colleagues in areas such as project organisation and the preparation of proposals.
- Your responsibilities will include site work, data analysis, computational modelling and reporting.
- You will be supported and guided by senior colleagues.
Qualifications
- Ideally, we are looking for candidates with a Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in acoustics or an acoustics related subject. However, because at Wood, we believe enthusiasm, personality, commitment and creative thinking are just as important as formal qualifications, we would be pleased to hear from candidates with equivalent experience or a qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. maths, physics or engineering).
- As you will be expected to carry out site work, you do need to have a full UK driving licence.
- As consultants, our work involves communicating technical concepts to non-experts, so we ask for a good standard of spoken English and high levels of literacy and numeracy.
- In addition, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
