EIA Planner in London

Our planning team works throughout the UK with major landowners, house builders and developers, Government departments and agencies, local authorities, infrastructure providers, utility and energy companies. Our projects are often high profile and at the leading edge of professional practice.

To build on our successes and help deliver an established and expanding portfolio of projects centred on the promotion and delivery of major development schemes, including urban extensions and new garden communities, we are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant / Associate Director with a track record of undertaking EIAs within the property sector to join our team based in Birmingham, Leamington Spa, Bristol or London. Job Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and lead the delivery of EIAs in support of strategic mixed-use urban extensions, garden communities and major planning applications for high profile clients.
• Use your skills and experience to deliver success, representing clients through the planning and EIA process, and taking responsibility for the delivery of high-quality outputs.
• Support a wide range of project management activities (including risk management, quality assurance and financial tracking).
• Keep abreast of emerging best practice, guidance, and legislative changes, to help raise our profile through networking and use of social media, and actively maintain your own professional development.
• Contribute to high quality proposals for projects and support the EIA and planning teams in winning work.
• Help support and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications:

• You will be qualified to degree level in Town Planning or relevant environmental discipline.
• You will hold membership of the RTPI or Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
• You will have significant professional experience, with a substantial part of that spent in the UK private consultancy environment.
• You will be technically confident and persuasive with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Attention to detail, as well as a commitment to delivery of high quality and timely outputs.
• A sound understanding of relevant UK environmental legislation, particularly in the field of EIA and some practical knowledge of some or all of the technical disciplines required for an EIA.
• You will have experience in managing EIAs (from small to large sized projects) and managing multi-disciplinary project teams to tight deadlines and strictly defined budgets.
• A desire to work as a team player in a constructive team environment, combined with an ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with clients and internal and external project stakeholders.
• An understanding of the importance of health and safety excellence.
• You will have a full UK drivers’ licence.
