Wood Group are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Piping Engineer to join the Integrated Digital Operations team supporting projects across the energy sector. This role will be based within our Hull office, on a hybrid working arrangement with visits to site as required. The successful candidate will provide expert piping engineering support, contribute to the success of the project, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the energy sector.
The Role
- As a Lead Piping Engineer, you will take ownership of complex engineering assignments, often involving the development of innovative or enhanced products, processes, and techniques.
- You will evaluate the feasibility and integrity of proposed designs, equipment, and systems, applying your advanced technical expertise to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.
- Working with minimal supervision, you will be responsible for producing key engineering deliverables and resolving complex technical challenges across a range of projects.
- In this role, the Lead Engineer will provide specialist expertise while guiding and reviewing the work of highly skilled engineering teams.
- You will play a pivotal role in ensuring technical excellence, offering critical reviews on complex projects and contributing to strategic decision‑making.
- In consulting environments, you may also manage a portfolio of projects, maintain client relationships and oversee project performance, including cost, schedule, resource allocation, and risk management.
