Transmission & Distribution Ltd are recruiting an accomplished Cabling Project Manager to work within our EHV Cabling Division. The role involves the development and delivery of large EHV cable projects to time and budget, working with National Grid, SSE, SPENW and similar operators. This position will be based across site locations in Scotland and across the UK, predominantly in the Midlands initially.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of win plans for strategic bids and tenders
- Responsible for the successful delivery of all stages of assigned projects to meet key programme milestones
- Accountable for the approval of the scope of works, the plan and estimate for each element of the project
- Ensure team consistency in the preparation and presentation of project controls, including PMP, QA/QC, CPP Plan, programme, risk & change management, EVM analysis, internal budget control and cash flow throughout
- Prioritise the assignment of project resources and resolve conflicting requirements to optimise delivery
- Adopt a performance management ethos and practice within the delivery teams
- Achieve a consistent high standard of project programming and produce monthly reports
- Resolve issues and challenges on individual projects; provide guidance, leadership and troubleshooting when necessary
- Demonstrate effective SHE leadership and promote an enthusiastic SHE culture; manage safety through early development incorporating life‑cycle designs that minimise risk to personnel
- Work within established company policies and procedures to address breaches of the SHE policies or management systems when necessary
- Apply lessons learned and innovation internally within the Wood T&D business
- Enforce standards of quality and professionalism for each stage of the project cycle
- Monitor compliance with NEC Contract terms, scope of work and variation logs with subcontractors
- Manage the Programme of Works, Quality Plan and Project Risk Register
- Promote company values and standards, demonstrating safety, integrity and commitment at all times
- Comply with OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and contribute to effective implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental policies
- Undertake any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy the needs of the role
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience of leading and managing EHV/HV to 132 kV Cabling Projects through all phases of design, construction, commissioning and close out, including Programme and Planning management
- Experience working with National Grid, SSE, SPENW and other cabling transmission and distribution network operators
- Knowledge of street works, permit submission requirements and local council liaison
- Experience managing design requirements for cabling projects, including commercial budgets
- Experience developing and maintaining good working relationships with clients and subcontractors
- Understanding of engineering principles and CDM knowledge
- Commercial understanding including NEC Forms of Contract
- Knowledge of cabling installation techniques
- Fully conversant with NG/SSE and SPENW technical standards, policies and procedures
- Hold a full driving licence
- Produce a negative result for the compulsory drugs and alcohol test
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
