Wood Process and Energy is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager with pre‑FEED, FEED and EPC/EPCm experience in EC&I Infrastructure, O&G, Chemicals and Petrochemical Projects. The role is available for staff and contract positions. Hybrid working with an expectation of working 3 days from our Glasgow office.

You will be based in our Glasgow office near Hull alongside the existing Wood Engineering Team to ensure delivery excellence across assigned projects/portfolios, providing project certainty and confidence to our clients, and ensuring robust control of scope, schedule, cost and risk.

We work on a portfolio of onshore projects across sectors including green hydrogen, fuel switching, UK national infrastructure, refineries, petrochemical facilities, fine chemicals and pharmaceutical facilities. We also design pilot plants for new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a large multi‑discipline engineering team
  • Manage complex project scope and contract management
  • Understand project work sequence, activities and deliverables at any phase
  • Own engineering schedule and progress across disciplines
  • Ensure quality management systems support deliverables and execution
  • Generate and authorize key documents, including engineering strategy and implementation
  • Manage technical engineering disciplines and associated scope
  • Issue instructions to enable work progression and resolve conflicts
  • Challenge working methods and ensure compliance with scope
  • Drive engineering input into project schedule, meeting milestones and KPIs
  • Ensure Design Verification requirements are identified, scheduled and resourced
  • Handle HSSE issues correctly
  • Manage work executed out of High Value Execution Centres
  • Identify risk and implement mitigations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Background in technical functions and project engineering across a range of projects
  • Engineering Management experience, including site experience
  • Experience in EC&I Infrastructure, Power, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical
  • Track record in leading multi‑discipline teams
  • Commercial acumen with understanding of lump‑sum and reimbursable work
  • Broad technical knowledge combined with excellent leadership skills
