Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Power Solutions are seeking 3x Skilled Foundation Timberman, with a strong background working on Overhead Lines Projects.

The Role

  • You will assist in all aspects of Foundation & civils works including but not limited to; groundworks, environmental mitigation, culvert installation, fencing, site set-up, signage, CDM demarcation, Installation of Pad & Column, pile caps, CSE, anchor blocks, upgrades, muffing, intrusive, cable installation/removal, joint bays, fibre pits, link boxes, earthing, cable pulling, RDX and assisting overhead line teams
  • Undertake plant operator duties, checks and basic routine maintenance
  • Deliver the work safely
  • Deliver the work productively
  • Be reliable, trustworthy and honest
  • To execute all activities safely and efficiently to agreed work plans, safety management system requirements and best working
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Read, understand and implement all applicable plans, procedures and work instructions for the project, ensuring always that the project works is undertaken safely and to a high standard
  • Complete all work scopes in accordance with the applicable work pack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches
  • Undertake risk assessments in order to complete work-scope safely and in a controlled and safe manner.
  • Install the work site (fencing, signage, guarding, bog mats, trackway, etc.)
  • Safe operation of plant & equipment
  • Daily maintenance of plant (grease joints etc)
  • Maintain daily logs of equipment usage
  • Maintain daily logs of safety checks
  • Working to levels (cut & fill)
  • Reporting of defects / hazards
  • Responsible for assessing ground conditions for use
  • Use of Cat and Genny
  • Gain experience of the Installation of excavation support systems including temporary works (boxes, trench sheets)
  • Tying Rebar to design specifications
  • Placement of concrete to design specifications
  • Installation of cable, fibre optic, earth continuity & ancillary cable support systems
  • Removal of cables
  • Install pumps and monitor water pumping operations
  • General housekeeping on the site
  • Participate in toolbox talks
  • General assistance to deliver the work
  • Must stop any work, considered to be unsafe
  • Must put own safety and those of colleagues first
  • Must start work only after assessing the risks
  • Must demonstrate safety as an integral part of their job
  • To work within established Company policies and procedures
  • Promote company values and standards and exhibit appropriate behaviour in accordance with Company ethos

  • Maintain excellent levels of communication throughout the team and the wider business
