Overview

Wood is seeking an expression of interest for a Marine Support Engineer to support Dana operations & maintenance team. This role will be on a fixed term contract basis. Hybrid working with expectation of working 3 days from our client - Dana's office in Aberdeen. Please be informed that this is not a live role.

The Role

You will be supporting to deliver expert marine and maritime support to the Triton asset, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations. You will be providing technical oversight for hull and marine inspections, covering both structural and system elements, and guarantees that all activities align with the company’s management system, asset-specific procedures, performance standards, and recognized international regulations and industry best practices. Reporting into the Marine Superintendent, acting as the secondary focal point for all marine and maritime matters, you will be collaborating closely with asset operations and integrity teams to maintain the reliability and safety of marine infrastructure and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support Marine department, management with ICP management and verification activity
  • Provide expert marine support to Onshore / Offshore Teams and Managers, ensuring regular liaison with the MSTL
  • Generate, review and where applicable approve amendments to marine related procedures
  • Generate, review and where applicable approve amendments to a Marine manual
  • Generate, review and where applicable approve relevant performance standards and ensure compliance
  • Arrange or carry out routine audits and inspections to ensure that marine and maritime operation practices are carried out in accordance with the management system, asset specific procedures and performance standards
  • Carry out and assist as appropriate with investigations into marine and maritime related incidents, including recommending actions to prevent recurrence
  • Provide general marine and maritime support in respect to vessel assurance, marine transportation / operations and supply chain
  • Monitor amendments to legislation and industry guidelines and ensure continued compliance for operational units
  • Provide expert marine advice to required studies such as HAZID / HAZOP to ensure legislative compliance, safety of personnel and equipment
  • Where appropriate attends planning meetings and ensures successful entry and progress through planning gates
  • To chair / participate in the relevant safety studies / workshops held and follow up actions from the studies as necessary
  • Support interface with HSE with regards to regulatory issues
  • Provide cost tracking and schedule visibility through the lifecycle of vendor SPA scopes the role is responsible for and for financial processes including budget planning, value of work done and forecasting for SPA scopes
  • Provide Budget input, budget management for relevant areas and activities and contract management for marine and maritime equipment, activities and scopes
  • Ensures that Management of Change is appropriately applied
  • Support other projects / scopes as required by the Asset Manager
  • Participate in the Emergency Response Team and Duty Rota as necessary

HSEQ Responsibilities

  • Familiarise with the Dana Policies, including the policies on HSE, Risk Management and Major Hazards
  • Familiarise with the One Dana Management System and its meaning for day-to-day work
  • Familiarise with the work and be aware of all associated risks for People, the Environment, Assets and Reputation (PEAR)
  • Report any incident, near miss, hazards (unsafe acts/situations) and improvement suggestions
  • Know their roles and responsibilities
  • Actively participate in any job or HSEQ training or instruction by or on behalf of Dana Petroleum
  • Use all provided means as intended and according to their purpose

  • Expected Certificate of Competency of Master Mariner or Degree or equivalent
  • Proven track record with experience in FPSO engineering and operations inclusive of offloading operations
  • Experience of both conventional and DP shuttle tanker offloading
  • Contractual awareness, ability to read, understand and execute standard contracts
  • Solid working knowledge and proven application of relevant UK industry regulations relating to the oil and gas industry
