Overview
Wood is recruiting for a 2nd Engineer on a core basis onboard the Irish Sea Pioneer, mobilising from Blackpool. The role supports the safe and efficient functioning of equipment and systems within the Engineering Department.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Department of Transport Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer Class 1 Motor (STCW.95)
- Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
- OGUK medicals
- ENG.1 medicals
- Panamanian certification
- Marine operations and self-elevating platforms experience (advantageous)
- H2S breathing apparatus certification
- Approved gas tester and confined space entry certificate
- Permit to work system awareness
- Computerised planned maintenance system awareness (STOP and/or Synergi)
- Manual handling
- QA/QC and protection of the environment awareness
- Teamwork and team-building abilities
- Technical awareness and safety consciousness
- Flexibility and adaptability; self-motivated
- Ability to work at height, undertake confined space entry and engage in lone working as required
Experience
- Experience in the offshore industry is advantageous
- Experience as Second Engineer including on similar units such as lift boats, jack-up rigs or supply boats
