Wood is seeking experienced Mechanical fitters to support a project based onsite in Ellesmere Port. This is a hands-on role suited to highly skilled Mechanical fitters with proven experience working within fast-paced shutdown environments, carrying out high-quality work on critical plant equipment and systems. Candidates must be safety-focused, quality-driven, and comfortable working in demanding environments, including confined spaces and at height, while delivering work to tight schedules.
Responsibilities
- Read, understand and implement all applicable company/project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the plating/structural work scope is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Follow the schedule communicated by the supervisor.
- Complete all workscope in accordance with applicable workpack/jobcard instructions, associated procedures and drawings/sketches.
- Provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team.
- Apply for relevant permits to work (PTW) in order to complete workscope in a controlled and safe manner (onshore only).
- Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete workscope in a safe and controlled manner.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in industrial environments, preferably within the oil, gas, or related sectors.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shutdown environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Relevant mechanical fitter qualifications/certifications (such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- CCNSG Safety passport.
- Ability to work at heights and work in confined spaces.
