Wood is looking to recruit an Assistant Consultant looking for a career in Environmental Consultancy in the Nuclear Sector. We have opportunities to support work in nuclear new build, operations and decommissioning across aspects of design optimisation, technical assessment, radioactive waste management, environmental compliance and permitting.
The role can be based in any of our UK office locations and for the right candidate the location of this role can be flexible with the option to mix home and office working subject to the requirements of the work.
Key Responsibilities:Your role will involve working as part of a small, focused Team to secure and deliver environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory projects within a selection of the following fields: optimisation of plant design, radioactive waste management, radiological impact assessment, decommissioning, radiological risk assessment, and demonstration of compliance. You will have the opportunity to support client relationships and projects, interpreting results and delivering of technical reports in line with client requirements.
Qualifications:You will be qualified, or on target for first class or upper second-class degree in a relevant environmental, scientific or engineering degree (or equivalent). For a successful career, you will be a highly motivated individual who enjoys finding solutions to technical and scientific challenges applying engineering and scientific methods and takes pride in the quality of their work. You will have the ability to communicate well, and work well both as part of a team and individually. This highly diverse role also means that you must be organised, have attention to detail and be able to multi-task and use multi-discipline approach and logical skills to problem solving. As you will be travelling on occasion to client offices, a clean UK driving license is highly desirable. Also, you will have the ability to hold security clearance at SC level.
