Wood Process & Energy is seeking an experienced Construction Manager with multi‑disciplinary experience and a proven track record in overseeing and coordinating on‑site activities. The role requires ensuring project scope is completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards for a high‑profile client.

- Location: Client site in Ayrshire, Southwest Scotland.
- Industry experience: Agricultural, pharmaceuticals, batch chemical production facilities or similar process industry.
The role supports a portfolio of Capital Projects and delivery of equipment and facilities on a site undergoing consistent and varied investment.
Responsibilities
- Develop project execution strategies, paths of construction and supporting documentation including constructability reviews, construction methodologies, risk assessment and HAZCON.
- Collaborate with discipline managers and other departments to align project plans.
- Support estimating and develop robust project estimates.
- Ensure quality and integrity of each project, maintain schedule and budget, and provide continuity in construction management.
- Execute work in accordance with quality standards and project requirements, managing installation, commissioning and completion activities for hardware, plant and equipment.
- Oversee total field construction effort, ensuring large or multiple smaller projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
- Accountable for managing, supervising, organising and coordinating site construction teams to provide high quality support.
- Work with engineering in design phases to influence design for optimal constructability.
- Execute assigned scopes of work within KPI schedules.
- Lead all construction reports, ensure delivery against milestones and KPIs.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on all construction related activities.
- Monitor work progress and report against the plan.
- Set strategic direction regarding policy, procedures, workforce staffing and budgeting.
- Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities are defined, communicated and implemented.
- Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables and other project‑specific requirements.
- Ensure employees receive appropriate training and induction.
- Manage industrial relations and report issues as required.
- Use commercial processes to manage change and capture variations effectively.
- Accountable for overall contract construction effort and support commissioning strategy.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualification of ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
- Vocational qualification such as NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management is an advantage.
- Recognised HSE qualification desirable (IOSH or similar).
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Extensive post‑qualification experience in a relevant industry.
- Knowledge of GMP within a pharmaceutical environment.
- Experience managing multi‑disciplinary projects in pharmaceutical, batch chemical production or similar industries.
- Excellent communication, delegation and team building skills.
- Familiarity with working within a technical environment.
- Experience conducting constructability and construction readiness reviews.
- People management experience in a construction context.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite; some experience with completions management systems.
