Wood is currently recruiting Building Information Modelling (BIM) Coordinators to join our Digital Operations team within our Digital Consulting business.

The BIM Co-Ordinator will assist Wood with various engineering projects, facilitating the implementation and management of digital processes. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure the effective utilisation of technology throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires a deep understanding of BIM methodologies and best practices, proficiency in related software, and excellent communication skills to co-ordinate efforts across multidisciplinary teams and departments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous experience in BIM coordination who is looking to further their career within a fast-paced consulting environment where the work that you do is critical in supporting clients across a range of industries with their digitalisation journey.

Within our Digital Operations team, our clients are operators of critical energy infrastructure as well as specialist manufacturing and pharmaceuticals, who are committed to maintaining safe and effective operational assets worldwide. Our work supports every stage in the asset lifecycle, particularly focusing on the integrity of engineering data in digital solutions as well as optimising existing assets through our engineering expertise. Responsibilities

  • Understand the requirement to deliver projects to ISO19650.
  • Defining requirements to ensure full alignment with our clients when proposing digital, data, 3D/4D/5D/6D solutions or Connected Data Platforms.
  • Providing support and guidance to clients with reference to their current and future BIM & digital needs.
  • Developing and supporting plans for data improvement and migration, including managing and supporting identified gaps in data quality.
  • Deliver BIM Execution Plans (BEP) in response to Employer’s Information Requirement (EIR), Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) & Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP).
  • Understand the principles of 1D, 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D & 6D and how they contribute to project delivery requirements.
  • Producing BIM compliant models using point cloud data (Scan to BIM). This may also include working to other standards, as per client requirements.
  • Oversee the management of Information Exchange protocols and deliverables, including IFC, DEXPI, NWD & RVT among others.
  • Management and use of Common Data Environments (CDEs).
  • Defining scopes for new and/or improved systems, toolsets, processes, and workflows in the digital space.
  • Developing and supporting plans for data improvement and migration, including managing and supporting identified gaps in data quality.
  • Assist Technical Leads in delivering internal training initiatives when required.
  • Assist with other parts of the business in 2D/3D draughting and engineering design as required, this will include direct support for global resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical or business discipline or extensive proven experience within BIM Coordination.
  • Previous experience having performed BIM coordination as a key part of your role.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in all work undertaken.
  • Self-motivated with excellent self-time management skills, able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the business both written and verbal.
  • Experience and a drive for continual learning/understanding of the latest digital tools, technologies and processes.
  • A good level of general computer skills (good electronic housekeeping).
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of industry best practices and work to established standards for BIM.
