Wood is currently looking for an Associate Accountant with oil and gas petrochemical industry experience to join the Aberdeen team on a 3 month fixed term basis.

OBJECTIVE: Provision of accounting support to contract finance team including invoicing, month end close, processing expenses and third party invoices and general support in a timely and accurate manner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Focal point for Oracle expenses on the contract covering coding and approval.
  • Review of supplier invoices in Azolve prior to approval (Training, Accommodation).
  • Review and analysis of costs coded to contract within the accounting system to ensure charges are correct and adjust as applicable.
  • Undertake labour hour reconciliations between systems to ensure all hours have been captured for invoicing and costing purposes.
  • Running various revenue, cost and structure reports in Oracle accounting system.
  • Carrying out pre-invoicing checks to ensure all costs are invoiced in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining bill rate schedules within Oracle.
  • Running processes and requests in Oracle to create monthly invoices.
  • Collating back up for invoices e.g. third party invoices, expense forms, approval forms.
  • Assistance with submitting invoices to client, updating accounts receivables register and tracking spending against client purchase orders.
  • Assistance with ensuring finance contract reconciliations are prepared, reconciled to accounts, analysed and reviewed on a monthly basis to establish over/under-recoveries and enable any corrective actions to be taken in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining contract delegation of authority matrix in line with any personnel changes on the contract.
  • Liaising with departments as required to undertake role: Commercial, Human Resources, Time Writing Central and Contract Managers.
  • Provide support with month end and forecasting processes as required.
  • Execution of various ad hoc tasks as and when requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Preferably higher grades or HNC/HND.

Minimum Experience: Previous experience. Knowledge and experience of MS Office Packages, particularly Excel. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to build good working relationships within teams. Highly organised and ability to prioritise tasks. Must be able to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy. Strong attention to detail.

Job-Specific Skills: Oil and gas experience preferred.
