Overview
Wood has an exciting opportunity to join our onshore team as HSE Focal point on our long-term Harbour Energy Contract. The HSE Focal point provides guidance and support to our E and C and O&M contracts which cover the Harbour offshore J-Area, GBA and Armanda, Everest and Lomond Assets. Reporting directly into the Contract Manager, and the Upstream HSE Team Lead, it is crucial to pro-actively establish excellent, trusted working relationships with the Wood and client onshore and offshore teams. The role will be based in our Sir Ian Wood House Office in Altens, Aberdeen, with a hybrid working week (3 days per week minimum in the office), requiring occasional travel offshore and to our client's office.

Responsibilities
- Providing strategic advice and guidance to Contract Management on all HSE related matters, including clients HSE directives and initiatives.
- Developing annual HSE improvement plans, and quarterly KPI in line with Company and Client strategic and HSE objectives.
- Communicate and monitor company/client HSE Objectives and initiatives, ensuring alignment and development HSE initiatives.
- Commitment to our "make it home" safety culture, and Harbour HSE Expectations.
- Engagement with and establishment of excellent, trusting relationships with the Harbour team and our offshore Teams, inclusive of quarterly Site visits.
- Developing an offshore/site HSE visit programme for both self and for project/contract management and for Corporate HSE management.
- Responsible for timely reporting of statistics, leading and lagging HSE indicators including trend analysis.
- Manage and support incident and accident investigations using an appropriate Investigation process.
- Undertaking leading and lagging indicator reviews of incident/accident trends and providing timely advice to Managers and client regarding effective actions and initiatives, to avoid occurrence/recurrence.
- Communicating the important messages from incidents and accidents as a part of the Lessons learned process to all relevant parties.
- Promoting and communicating lessons learned from within our contract reporting deficiencies within project and corporate functions and recording all reportable issues within HSE systems.
- Manage and communicate HSE interface requirements, ensuring compliance with all existing interface documents and the development of future HSE plans.
- Ensuring the emergency response arrangements are in place, tested and communicated to all personnel; ensuring that company requirements align with Client requirements.
- Support and participate within the company emergency response team.
- Providing mentorship and training for HSE graduate/Trainees.
- Developing HSE presentational material to support inductions, management and client meetings.
- Carrying-out HSE Inductions, training and mentoring for company personnel and subcontractors.
- Promoting workforce involvement, coordinate meetings and interactive sessions for HSE activities, initiatives and programmes.
- Managing attendance and participation HSE meetings, workshops and forums.
- Attend/coordinate and lead client/subcontractor safety meetings, providing company/contract safety statistics and initiatives.

- ONC/HNC or equivalent in Technical, HSE or related industry
- Degree in relevant technical, industry or HSEQ specific discipline
- NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma (essential)
- NVQ Level 4 IOSH (desirable)
- Trained and competent Internal Auditor (essential)
- Trained and competent External Auditor (desirable)
- RCA β Accident/incident Investigator, e.g. Helix/Taproot (essential)
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Experience in a technical role, or association with HSE role in another industry
- Lead/Senior HSE advisor experience with project/contract experience in O&G or other industry
- Excellent working knowledge with relevant legislation and regulations
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Effective/competent MS Office Suite User
- High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
